Any information can be listed here, including the urge to guide students toward paying for the
occasional private lesson (provided you offer them), especially if it will do them some good.
TIP: Nothing revolutionary here, just the usual weekly schedule that can be as simple or as complicated as you like. Including a LINK to a monthly (or if you're super–organized, even a quarterly) calendar of events is also a good idea, so your students can always verify the dates and times of special events OR canceled classes. In fact, any LAST minute changes that won't be present on any paper calendars you've handed out can be reflected in this online version. In emergency situations, this is probably the best and easiest way to make the most amount of people aware of changes to your regular schedule.
One last tip to help ensure the effectiveness of your website (while keeping costs at a minimum), is to place it on your printed class schedule, business cards, flyers, and as many other places as you can think of (virtually bombarding the sub–conscious minds of as many people as possible), so that your website will actually get visitors.
Now for a little bit of TECHNICAL BS: Every web page has the possibility of storing hidden info that search engines (Google, Alta Vista, etc.) use to direct people towards it, should their search criteria match this hidden data. The problem lies in the fact that your site may be just one of many, many others, depending on how broad or specifc the search criteria is. Remember that the Internet is extremely HUGE & VAST. Without paying extra fees to ensure that you reside in the TOP 5 or 10 results from a generic SEARCH REQUEST, most people will not be directed to your site. So, the bottom line is to follow the suggestion above about advertising your website on all of your printed matter, to help drive people to your site.
